I saw on the canadian high commission website that the canadian diplomats both home and abroad are gone on strike. does anybody have an idea when this started and possibly if any idea when it ends ?
will this strike action affect student visa applications as from the 8th July 2013 ?

please help me with credible information. thank you

thank you for your reply. I am asking because my friend submitted her student visa application on 10th June 2013 (within striking period) and got her visa last week. I submitted my application on the 8th June and have still not got a call for medicals.

@CartonKay - i too applied on 8th of June...got an e-mail medical request on 10th of July... i did the medical on 11th and just called today to find out whether the report has been submitted to the embassy....they said it has....not just waiting and hoping the visa will come...

Maybe you should e-mail or call the embassy ....

thank you MandyKMF, but I was given a chit upon submission. I was asked to return on the 22nd July, must I wait till 22 to find out from the Visa office or I should give them a call ?

hmmmm...u can wait till then ....its just a couple of days from now....no need to call then ...just return on 22nd and see....keep us updated then on what happened.

hello everyone!
I am happy to announce that after the long wait, I have been called for the medicals.

Thats great Cartonkay....just when you were worried and about to call....good thing you waited ... :)

in Ghana it does not take more than a month to get visa, but I cannot tell for where you are. you can find out so from the canadian high commission official website on processing time for your country. but the earlier applied, the better for you as applications may pile-up in august due to september school.
