Hello

I am a permanent resident in Canada, and would like to apply for citizenship in the future. I am wondering if they will check my criminal background back in my home country? or they just require no criminal record prior to 4 years of my residency in Canada?

Thank you.

The CSIS (Canadian Security and Intelligence Service) performs a security check on everyone who applies for citizenship. What information they have access to, and how they can gain access to information, only they and God know...

Hey Commonwealth! Thanks, same to you!

All's well here, thank you. I was already pretty much settled before I got my PR, so life just keeps moving along. :)

How are things going for you?

Things are pretty good, enjoying beautiful winter in Texas.
2009 was a tough year, Can't wait to get it over and move into 2010. One more day at work and then out for rest of the year, planning BBQ tomorrow and expecting better 2010 :)

How is life different in Canada if you will compare it with US?
