What in the world are you talking about? Why would you have to pay anything for your baby to enter Canada? And, more importantly, why would there be any special tax treatment for Canadian babies with filipino parents?

Pay for what? Nobody pays anything to simply enter Canada.

they say that there is one year tax free for canadian citizen baby with filipino parents.

Unless your baby is employed somewhere, he won't be paying taxes. So I have no idea what you're asking about here.

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

In the Philippines if you are not a Filipino citizen and you over stayed there you have to pay taxes. Thats what im asking to those who are filipino parents with the same situation as mine. >:( because my baby is a canadian citizen and is about to leave the Philippines where he stayed for more than a year.
basically what im asking is how much do we have to pay for overstaying of my baby in the Philippines. NOT ENTERING IN CANADA.

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

I think you'll need to post this somewhere else. It is likely that not too many people have encountered this before. The only place I can think of you to even TRY to get an answer to this would be on the Manila thread, maybe someone else has encountered it?

I don't see why you are getting angry. Your original statement really sounds as if you were asking how much tax you would need to pay for bringing your child to Canada. I would be curious to know, if you don't pay the 'tax' at the airport, what do they do to you? How would they tax an infant?

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

Sorry for smiling, but it really did sound for a moment as if you were asking what the declared value of the baby should be, and what duties you'd have to pay at Canadian customs.

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

Yes mrsmissing them, your infant (and your husband for that matter) can stay in PHILIPPINES with you for up to one year if you entered at the same time. Check the stamp in your baby's passport, it should have "BB" handwritten on the stamp. This is called a 'balikbayan' stamp. We didn't even need to ask for it when we all entered together, they just did so.

Was it over a year, or 7 months? Your two posts make it unclear.

They don't let you leave. It's not really tax, it's the fees that you would have paid if you had extended your visit visa ahead of time.

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

The Travel Tax is a levy imposed by the Philippine Government on persons who are leaving the country regardless of the country where the air ticket is issued and the form or place of payment, as provided for by Presidential Decree (PD) 1183, as amended. The Travel Tax must be paid by:

• Citizens of the Philippines;

• Foreigners holding a permanent resident visa Sec. 13 Quota or Preference Immigrant Visa

• Foreign tourists or expatriates who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one (1) year.

Foreign temporary visitors (tourists and businesspersons) and Filipino balikbayans (either expatriates working in other countries or former Filipinos who are now citizens of other countries) who stay in the Philippines for less than one year do not pay Travel Tax.

Economy Class Passage - full rate PHP1350 , Standard Rate 810

Privileged reduced rate for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) dependents PHP 400 PHP 300

Re: CANADIAN CITIZEN BABY LIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES?HOW MUCH WILL WE PAY?

I should note that a friend couple with baby were exempt from paying the tax for the baby, but they still had to pay the airport terminal fee for the baby PHP750.

yeah you're right i should've posted this in a manila thread or something but there's a reason why I put the word Philippines hoping that those who are from the Philippines would see this thread and help me out.
not make fun of my question just because they dont get it.
