Okay! I know anybody who is born in Canada gets the canadian PP even if on visit ... My question is if a child is born in such a situation n the parents want to continue living in Canada for his/her education, can they do so? if Yes, how & when can they apply for Canadian immigration? How long does this process usually take?

They have to qualify the same as every one else. The Canadian child doesn't give them any rights, except when the child turns 18 s/he could sponsor them if s/he met the LICO.
Extremely unlikely/impossible that CIC would allow the parents to remain as visitors while the child goes to school.

Hi,
Wondering what happened in that case?

Guess you realise the original poster has not been here for 10 years so is unlikely to answer ?

PMM answer still stands though that a Canadian minor does not give the parents any advantages for PR or ability to remain in or visit Canada. Once the child reaches 18 they could of course apply to sponsor the parents for PR

One caveat is that we have no idea whether there will be a sponsorship option 18+ years from now. You can’t count on one being there. Most children would not qualify at 18 because currently they have to prove that they have earned a certain level of income for 3 years.

I am just wondering how does a woman in her early 40s or late 30s apply to become a PR under economic programs if EE and PGP option is out of question.

One child is a Canadian citizen and another child is on Study permit. Mother wants to become a PR but unable to get through. I know H&C would be a weak case but what if the mother is divorced and wants to unite with her kids in Canada?

LMIA to work permit is one ideal option but still because of the age the person won't even be able to apply under CEC after 1yr work experience.

Doesn't have money to apply as an entrepreneur.
All she has is a TRV to Canada. May be the doors are closed for parents in such cases.

Yes doors are closed to most parents in that case. She will have to wait and hope her children can sponsor her one day.

How did the 2nd child get citizenship?

She shoudl look into the PNP programs if EE is not an option. She has to qualify for PR on her own. Having a Canadian citizens child gives her no advantages and does not allow her to live in Canada.
