Hi guys,

We are new immigrants in Canada. We are expecting a baby girl in few months. The rule is if you are married to Canadian citizen even if you stay abroad it counts towards the required time for the PR, does anyone know how about your child if she, or he is Canadian by birth, and you stay out of Canada is it the same counted or not?

Thank you

No - it's not counted. This rule only applies if you have a Canadian citizen spouse. Children don't count. You need to meet the residency requirement by physically living in Canada if you want to keep your PR status.
