Hi,
Hope everyone doing well. I have question about my wife.

MY wife born in India and her father got Canadian citizen(Naturalized Canadian) before her birth. My wife came Canada when she was 1 year was old. She got Canadian Citizenship as Naturalized after and she got Canadian citizenship card and Canadian passport.

Now someone told as we can fill application of my WIFE to CIC about her Canadian as born mean we can proof that she is Canadian from born not Naturalized Citizenship and after she do not need any citizenship card, we will only get canadian passport as child who born in canada.
Now my wife considered as Canada citizen as Naturalized. Now my wife want to fill application to CIC so she considered as Canadian as BORN, not like Naturalized

If its possible, How can we do it?

Now she has Indian Birth certificate, Will it will change and CIC will make it as Canada birth certificate.

Once again Thankyou so much all of you, and thankyou so much for helping us

1. No, she got citizenship through descent as her father was a Canadian citizen at the time of her birth, not naturalization.
2. She was not a "born" citizen as she was not born in Canada. Only persons born in Canada are entitled to a Canadian birth certificate.

If your wife was born to a parent who was a Canadian citizen at the time of her birth, then she is a Canadian citizen by descent. Therefore, she did not need to be naturalized, and I'm not clear on how that would have occurred. The fact that she has a citizenship card does necessarily mean that she was naturalized. A citizen by descent also would have a citizenship card (or certificate), because he/she was not born in Canada. If your wife truly was naturalized, you can contact CIC to see how to correct her status. However, be aware that as a naturalized citizen your wife has one advantage over a citizen by descent: she can pass citizenship on to a child born outside of Canada.

In summary: whether a citizen by descent or by naturalization, you wife would still have a citizenship card/certificate. She cannot have a Canadian birth certificate, because she was not born in Canada.
