Hi I was wondering if someone could tell me I have been in Canada overstaying 1 year. I am a UK passport holder. I am travelling back to the UK but my flight has a connection in Chicago. Will at any point will I be subjected to immigration and will it cause problems for my return to Canada.???? I will be doing my PR for Canada while back in the UK. My partner and son are Canadian by the way. Thank you for helping me anyone :)

You will go through US Immigration at the Canadian airport when you leave Canada. It is quite possible that the US will note you are an overstay in Canada, and refuse admission as they will assume that you may overstay in the US.
