Sooo where to begin, my husband just had a fantastic interview at the Embassy and things went great (shocking I know!) and they asked him to pay the $400 ARC fees. He was came to Canada as a Conv. Ref and was not given that status....he evetually ended up staying in Canada illegally and was issued a deportation order. When he first came to Canada his fingerprints were taken and came up clean so I was wondering if they would use the same prints from 10+ years ago (are they still valid?) and IF we should start the process of getting him a new updated set of fingerprints for the RCMP before they ask?
He found out today at his interview that he has a Canada wide warrant due to him being in Canada illegally (I wouldn't let him leave!! lol) and we were wondering if that would come up as a RED FLAG when doing his background checks? He has NO criminal records or charged with anything EVER in any country. I just want to be one step ahead to avoid any delays....

Should we go ahead and get his prints taken because he did have a Canada wide warrant? When we left Canada the I.O's in Toronto said it was good that we left voluntarily as apposed to being "caught"...

Any suggestions?

thank you in advance

Get the fingerprints done. I'm an "err on the side of caution" person, it never hurts to have it ready if they need it. If they don't, you've lost nothing but some money and time, and in the greater scheme of things, that's affordable. :)

The warrant will almost certainly show on his background check, however the fact that he has been approved for ARC will overcome that.

Thank you again CharlieD.....:-) Always very helpful!

Not sure, but are you saying he is currently in Canada illegally now?

no, we left canada in 2009.
