Hi,
I am an Indian Citizen, 45+ male, post graduates (wife & myself), more than 20 years experience in NOC 2173 other than CANADA.
Recently got job offer LMIA approved for NOC 2173, Work Permit is under process.
At this age , are there any PR possibilities for me with my education, experience, WP LMIA approval?

Depends on your overall points under Express Entry and also which province you will be working in.

Calculate your EE points and research the PNP programs for the province where you will be working.

You also have to think about retirement. If you are closer to 50 you only have a limited time to save for retirement, will you be able to pay off your mortage by the time you want to retire if you buy a home, etc. If you have good jobs and a good lifestyle in India is there a reason you want to move at this point in your career? You also have to consider your parents. Parent sponsorship isn’t guaranteed and if selected usually takes much longer than the 3 years that is listed. Do you have a care for them in India?

Just curious to know, is there any retirement age for IT professionals in Canada? What is the maximum age for getting a home loan?

No there isn’t any forced retirement age. Retirement age is normally 65. IT is a very ageist industry so employers may be more reluctant to hire or keep employees their later years. Somewhat depends on thetype of industry you are in. Even getting a job as a newcomer to Canada when you are 45+ and if you do have to take a step back in your career you don’t have the time to make up any career loss you let by moving. Most Canadian mprtgages are 30 year terms although there are prepayment options. Housing in a lot of the country is quite expensive versus median salary so you will need to see if you could afford to take out a mortgage with plans to pay it off at 65-70. Will you be able to afford larger mortgage payments given the shorter term, savings to pay for living costs in retirement, general living costs, etc. what if one of you get sick and can’t work. It is not unusual for someone not to be able to work past a certain point for health reasons. You may want to work until 70 but what if you get cancer at age 60? There is a safety net but it is not as generous as most people think.n is there a reason you want to move to Canada at this point in your careers? Are you closer to. 50 or 45? Do you work for a large IT company that could transfer you to Canada? You would need to be in a management/senior role.
