Hi,
Can anyone please give me some updates to what will happen as next and when I should hear more on my application from Visa Office and is there a way to get to know where my current file is and what the actual status is with it.

The details to my file are:
I applied and mailed in all the forms and documents that were required to FSW at Sydney, Nova Scotia. I mailed in the documents in mid of Jan 2012. I got a email confirmation back from FSW in mid Fed 2012, confirming that my application has been approved and has been sent to the visa office that was mentioned in the form for further processing and gave me my UCI number. Since then I have not heard anything on my file and where exactly it is. In my forms I have Buffalo as my visa office as I'm in USA. But heard a month back that files have been transferred from Buffalo visa office, though not what all files got transferred from there and did my got transferred or not as I saw this news on a website and not that I got a notification or email or something. Also, when I track online at CIC with my UCI # the status that it shows there is "In-Process" and it also shows my current address in the US that I gave in my application. And this has been shown since April/ May and has been the same since then.
What is the current processing times at Buffalo, USA for PR visa, does any one know?? Also, I have a valid job offer letter and have applied and got approved under Arranged Employment category.

Any thoughts or ideas from any one would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Does your job qualify in a NAFTA category? If so, you should be able to work with your employer to start working - that won't make your PR go any faster, but it will make its processing less urgent.

As for how long it takes, with the closure of the Buffalo field office it's not clear what processing times are going to be. From the open data project it appears for the year ending 31 March 2012, Buffalo completed 20% of applications in 21 months, 50% of applications in 24 months, and 80% of applications in 28 months. This is for the MI-1 category (which includes "arranged employment").

So it would look like under normal processing times you would expect to hear in late 2013.

Appreciate your response.
But was wondering what about the rule/ law that got passed to clear applications in 9-12 months?
Also, if there a way I can call someone to get status to my application?
thanks,

No, you cannot call to obtain status information. You may obtain it via the electronic case system (e-cas) online, you may submit a case-specific inquiry - but they normally refuse to respond unless your case has exceeded published processing timelines, or you may order your GCMS notes for your case.

I don't know of any rule or law that they must clear applications in 9-12 months. Perhaps someone else is familiar with it and can provide a citation to it.
