I applied under CEC and was informed I didn’t need a Police Certificate for Canada. However I saw someone said they got requested for one? Has anyone else been contacted further down the line and been requested a police certificate for Canada? I’ve lived here three years now under working and student visa, but it says “you don’t need a police certificate for any time spent in Canada”

not everybody gets it, but maybe some might.
I wasn't CEC but i was FSW inland. I got a request for Canada PCC. AFter i submitted, my application was approved in 1 week.
Ah damn. Maybe I'll get asked for one too. Did you get the request before you submitted your application or a little way down the line?
i got it just 1 week before my application was completing 6 months. It took 1 week for IRCC to receive it. And 1 week after that my application was approved.
I have just received the request also, the same time with medical passed. Hopefully everything works well with our application
AOR, december 2018 and I guess I got the request because I have a difficult name and surname (several surnames indeed).
Apparently it has to do with the name coming up with a match in their security or criminal database.
So to rule it out completely, they request a PCC which requires fingerprinting.
