Hi,
I travelled to canada toronto on feb 2012, so i am planning to go canada.i have already book the tickets my flight was yesterday when i went to take the boarding pass they said like in feb 2012 to feb 2013 i didnot travelled that is why they asking me to go candaian consulate and get some letter.is it nessery but PR card is still valid 2017.they said like after receving a greencard in 1 year i need to say some days.my husband he is in canada he said like in total 5 years if i stay 2 years is good for valid green card help me plzz.

The airline is wrong. They are mixing up the rules for US green card vs. Canada PR card.

The US green card requires a person to travel to the US at least once a year or they may lose it. A Canada PR card you can keep if you stay in Canada 2/5 years so you can be outside Canada for up to 3 years and still keep it.

You can print out the residency obligations here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA and show that to the airline.

thanks for your information, thing is if i show this document is fine in the immigration, because i am travelling with 2 kids
or if they will rase any issue or should i send any email to canadian consulate advie please

Its better to be on safe side and goto Canadian embassy or consulate and get a letter for flight to Canada,if the embassy doesnot give any letter than try again !
