Hi All,

I have worked in Canada for 11 months and 3 weeks (just one week short for 12 months).
Can i apply for Canada Experience Class as the eligibility is 12 months?

"have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply"

As per above statement its complete 12 months - even people keep buffer of few weeks to avoid any confusion with VO , but I am afraid friend , you haven't cleared the eligibility and need to wait more.

Actually I moved out of the country after that, and now thinking to apply under CEC so.. Whether still it will be problem for 1 week?

As its precisely written , So I am afraid to tell you are not eligible. Hard luck

If you don't have any other option to immigrate to Canada and you have $550 to burn I say go ahead and apply. VOs are not there to reject you over a week (technically 5 days). If you meet all other criterias and you provide them with explanation letters and good reference letters, you might have a chance.

I was off by 5 days. But the VO was kind enough to let it go. Although I have to say I had brilliant work experience and reference letters (including one from a government position) so these might have played a role in my application.

Do your calculations once again, fill in the app, send it and keep your fingers crossed. It's a shot in the dark that costs $550, if you hit the target, voila! If you don't, then, you don't!

Best of luck,

agree with all the above. Technically you do not meet the eligibility requirements. But if you have no other options, and if you are willing to gamble with the application fee, you can try. Sometimes visa officers give you a break, but if your experience is the least bit marginal, you can expect a refusal... What was your occupation?

No.. at least Must 1 year completely
