I wonder if you are legally allowed to study for and sit the CFA exams while you're in Canada as a tourist? For those who do not know, the CFA is a certification called Certified Financial Analyst. You sign up through the CFA institute and do all the studying on your own and just show up 1 day for the exam. Can you do this as a tourist or do you need residency to do this type of studying?

Cheers.

I dont think there should be a problem, if there is then you'll know on the day that you are writing your test. Besides you are here as a visitor and can always write it back in your own country.

A visitor record may exclude study, how long is the study period for CFA?

You can sign up for the exam at the earliest a year in advance and at the latest 2-3 months in advance i think.

WHy not ask the CFA governing body?

Good luck; the CFA course is rigorous and difficult.
