Can Work permit holder change to Study permit?

I am on work permit which is to expiry on June 2020. I have applied for Study permit Feb 10, 2020 with admission letter from a college for May 2020 and first semester fees paid, Processing time is 5 weeks but till date no update. Has any one pass through this route?

I am looking for an answer as well. I'm yet to apply, now its showing 3 weeks.

Just to add that colleges are generally closed at the moment so suggest you keep in mind that it is possible May start dates will be deferred due to COVID.
