I have recently got my PR visa and will be in Canada from 1st December. I plan to sponsor my wife and daughter as soon as possible. Since the family sponsorship may take a long time, is it possible for them to visit me on a visitor visa in the meantime? Thanks.

If they are approved for a visitor visa (temporary resident) then yes they can visit. They may have to prove funds and ticket home upon arrival

Thanks. Any idea how much funds my wife and daughter would need to show for a visitor visa?
Depends on how long they are here for. They say about 1500 a week per person - check the temporary resident section of this forum

They will have to show strong ties to heir home country in order to prove that they only plan on visiting and not staying during the sponsorship purposes. Not as easy as you think.
