I read somewhere that this is possible. Anybody has any comments?
I applied March 2013, took the test January 2015, and was handed in RQ form. Submitted the documents a couple weeks ago and now I'm just waiting.
I'm looking at the processing time of new applicants, and I'm starting to think that if I put a new application in, it's going to be process much faster than my first application at this stage!
I read somewhere on CIC's website that based on the applicants request, it is possible to have two applications in the system. Any idea?
Thanks

Why don't you withdraw current application and then send in a new application. That will be cleaner

1. No, you can't have two applications at the same time.
2. If you withdraw your first application, and re-submit, there is an excellent chance that you will receive another RQ and increase your waiting time.

I don't want to withdaw as I have a high chance to get my citizenship through the first application. I meet all the requirements. Have been full time student and full time employed during the 4 year period. I am just frustrated with the processing time of RQ cases.

I am a 100% sure it's possible to have to under some circumstances and based on the applicants request. I'll try to find the link.

Please see this, you can have multiple applications -

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/cit/admin/general/multiple.asp

Specifically -

"If the client does not wish to withdraw an application, the client can choose which application is processed first. A note will be put on the other application and the local office or the CPC-S will hold it pending the outcome of the chosen application."

I am considering the option of Withdraw once the 4 out/6 year residency rules take in affect in June. I plan to submit a very comprehensive documentation along. I will accumulate about 6 years of residency this year.

You can use this only when your first file is at litigation stage ... meaning at the judge level

Gonna wait till the new requirements kick in. I'm eligible under that too. Then will re-apply. Hoping that the second one will be processed faster, and there would be no backlog for that.
