Can we carry medicine while going to Canada on a study visa?

HI Friends,

I am going to live with my uncle's family in Toronto and i have a flight on 24th April ---- they asked me to get some medicines for their son with me so i would like your thoughts on this that is this something ok to carry? i mean is it ok that i can carry medicine for my uncle's son?

You can carry medication for yourself - but not for someone else.

ok coz i told them the same thing and they said that i can put the medicines in my bag and that won't be a problem so i was scared and wanted to ask.....coz they are permanent citizen of canada and when they come to Inida they do carry medicines for their relatives in Canada.
