Can we apply for permanent residency while applying for student visa

I have obtained admission to a college in Canada for which I need to join by September. I wanted to apply for a PR during the same time period. My question is if it is going to be a problem if we apply for the student visa while we have our profile in the pool for Express entry. Thanks in advance!
