Hi all,

Quick question... Say you apply and get approved for spouse's visitor visa while an outland app is being processed. Can the IO deny entry when you land at his/her discretion because there's an active outland app?

I know chances are slim to get visitor's visa, but we might try it because she has strong ties such as her job. No point quitting job until immigration completes heh. Tough living apart :(

Thanks

entrance to Canada is never guaranteed - a visitor visa is a permission to enter, not a guarantee. So for anybody coming to Canada, there is always a risk to be rejected. However, I don't think that it would be linked to an outland application.... as there are quite a few people that come ( both visa-exempt, and non visa-exempt for the ones that have a visa).
So - if your wife gets a visa, and she travels with her proofs of employment, chances are that she will be let in the country, unless the IO at the border sees something highly unusual when she arrives.
Good luck,
Sweden

It is possible, but very very unlikely.
