Can visit visa be applied when filing for sponsorship for a wife

I was wondering if I can invite my wife on visit visa during time in parallel to my application for sponsorship. Does anyone have any idea, and if anyone has followed such path ?

In addition, does anyone know what type of Visit Visa is issued for a first time visitor (spouse), what type of entries and how long of a duration stay can I expect?

Yes it can be done. But no guarantee it will be approved if you are from a country that requires a visa.
