Hello,

My husband is working in U.S. and applying for Express Entry. I'm currently in India and planning to apply for MBA in Canada from India. But heard that while my husband is adding me the EE process as spouse, I shouldn't apply study visa or study to Canada. Is this true?

Please advice. Thank you!!

You can certainly apply for a student visa. Applying for a student visa won't impact EE.

Thank u very much scylla!! :) :)

Can you please help me in one more thing..

My husband is the primary applicant for the express entry and to claim the spouse points I have written IELTS exam, the result is:

L=7.50,
R=5.50,
W=5.50,
S=6.50,
OverAll=6.50

Is this score good enough for the spouse?

As per the cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

Spouse's or common-law partner's official languages proficiency - first official language Maximum 20 points
Reading, writing, speaking and listening– total points for each ability

For each ability 5
CLB 4 or less 0
CLB 5 or 6 1
CLB 7 or 8 3
CLB 9 or more 5

Tried calculating the CLB based on my result in ielts-exam.net/IELTS-for-canada.htm but the calculator is not calculating if the score is less than 6.0 in each section. Does the spouse also need to get 6.0 in each section and based on my result how many points will I get.

Please let me know. Thank you!!
