Hello Everyone,

I was just curious to know that can we do digital signature on all the forms rather than manual.

I usually like to do digital signature in order to preserve quality in compare to printing and scanning again.

But, I couldn't find any where on CIC website that states you can or can not do digital signature.

Thank you.

No. Signatures are required to be original for both parties.

Thank you Scylla...!!

What is the best practice for that..? First I fill out the forms and email them to my spouse. Then she will validate, print, sign, scan and send it back and then I print them and sign and send to CIC. This way, forms will only be scanned one time.

What do you guys do usually..?

Thank you.

Except your spouse cannot scan the documents after spouse signs it. Spouse has to mail the original documents back to you. Signatures must be inked and original.

Agreed. All signatures have to be original. Mailing back and forth is the only way if you're in different locations.

I cannot see anywhere that says signatures must be inked! Could you please point me to any document that says that. It's hard for couples who are away from each other.

Ink signatures. You can't find it anywhere, but you can likely find many threads here talking about a returned application because the signatures were not original.

Spend the $40 on an international courier.
