Good Day,
I recently received my invitation to write my Citizenship test for Sept. 9, 2011 but on Monday, I was charged with 3 indictable offences. Just last year, my sister asked me if my nephew could stay with us for a while as we was mixed up in Toronto and she needed him out of that kind of environment. He has been living with us since. On Monday, I came home from work and was playing in the front with my kids that's when the swat team started jumping out of vans, cars and I don't know what else brandishing a search warrant. It was a warrant to search my house for drugs. According to the investigator, my nephew, who is 22, was arrested earlier in the day with an alledged 'know drug dealer' and they found drugs on him. My husband was still at work. They searched all 3 floors then later advised me that they found drugs the house and that they had to charge me because I am the owner of the property. They also, have to charge my husband because he is also the owner of the property. My husband and I were released from the station but my nephew was held for bail. Surprisingly, he was released but was not charged with anything found in the house because according to the police, they don't have proof that he actually lived there.
~Sigh~ Now to get to my real question, should I even turn up for my test on Sept. 9, 2011? Should I also contact CIC and advise them of the charges? I am very worried and I do not know what to do at this point.
