For applicants residing in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh & Haryana (Residents of district Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar & Panchkula), your application should normally be submitted at The Consulate General of Canada at Chandigarh.

For applicants residing in any other part of India except the above, your application should normally be submitted at The Canada High Commission at New Delhi.

if u can speak punjabi, that doesnt mean that u are a punjabi.

bro...it was very clear what punjabi meant in my ques......i was talking about legal citizenship status.....not any general logic..
there is nothing to mind abt...u must be a punjabi....but ur passport isnt....this is what i was asking about

My passport is Indian and does not belong to any state. Where did you get your PP from .

Just having lite conversation buddy. ^^ I know you are all confused and frustrated by slow functioning of CHC CHD, and this rises manifold once a person has applied and is waiting for the result.

Also on another note you must have read on several threads including the latest hot one by Jyoti Dhillon that if one is from Punjab, that person can't apply in Delhi, even if that person does, his/her file would be forwarded to Chandigarh.

WHY ARE WE TREATED UNLIKE OTHER STATES.....ACC TO NEW RULES
WE CANT ISSUE A ARM LICENECE WITHOUT PERMISSION OF MR. P. CHIDAMBRAM( NONE CAN GET IT)
WE CANT BUY LAND IN OUR NAME IN SOME OTHER STATE,,,,AND MANY MORE
BUT THEN ALSO OUR PASSPORT IS INDIAN
