Hi Friends, Initially i applied for a 3 year course but i have changed it to a 1 year post grad diploma..i have completed my 1 year post grad and got my 1 year PGWP(post grad work permit). It is going to be expired in Nov 2011. Can my study permit be still valid after the PGWP expires?
or do i need to apply for study permit again incase if i want to continue my studies? i appreciate your help.

No, you have to apply for new study permit again.

ok thanks, but i have read in the same forum someone saying : it is still valid..so i am confused..

I came here to study for PhD but decided to leave with a MA. I applied for PGSW, and I was informed by CIC officer that my study permit which is suppose to expire in 2013, is not valid any more.
Second study permits are issued for specific course and institutions. Now, if you change your course or institution you need a new study permit. you will need to apply for a new one. For your satisfaction call CIC.

I was told, I must obtain a study permit or extend my work permit in 90 days after the expiry of PGSW, after 90 days an enforcement will be released.
