I moved to Canada from Pakistan in 2008, I was able to obtain Permanent Residence. Stayed for three years after which I moved back to Pakistan. I than travelled back to Canada in 2012 just to renew my pr card. After getting my card renewed in 3 months, I moved back to Pakistan.

Ever since than I have been living in Pakistan.

Now I wanted to ask, is my permanent residency status still valid or not? Can I travel back to Canada on a Permanent Resident Travel document and than once there renew my PR card again? Or have I lost my PR status completely?

Do you have a valid PRTD right now?
If you have gotten one and were able to travel back to Canada and wait 2 year till you meet the RO (730 days in the last five years ) requirement and then you can apply to renew your PR card in Canada.

You first step is to try to get PRTD since you do not meet RO right now (assuming that you do not meet RO with other means)

Currently i do not have PRTD
Did you live with your Canadian citizen spouse? Did you move to Pakistan to accompany your spouse's work in Pakistan? Or did you have any H&C reason to live outside of Canada for the last 10 years?

If you do not qualify for PRTD, and when you apply, it will likely initiatve to revoke your PR status.

If your application for a PRTD is refused:

  • you will get a refusal letter, explaining the reasons for the refusal and your appeal rights.
If you decide to appeal a negative decision, follow the instructions in the “Notice of Appeal” form and letter sent with your refusal.

I am not married. I moved to Pakistan with my mother, I did my high school and did my University from Pakistan, which is why I lived in Pakistan for the last 10 years.

Since you finished your university, I don't think you can use the argument that you were a minor and got removed from Canada by your mother...

May be others can give you some advice.... You can also look into renounce your PR status and apply for PR again under other stream. (EE, PNP ...etc)

You can certainly try to apply for a PRTD based on H&C because you were removed as a minor but given that you completed university your chances are not that great. It’s worthwhile trying. You’ve been out of status for around a decade since after the first PR card renewal you must be in Canada 730 days in the past 5 years in order to meet your RO. Do you have a SIN#? US visa?
