can my partner sponsor me while im on student permit?

my partner is planning to sponsor me as his common law partner to become PR, he said after 6 months of staying in Canada, We will gonna process my papers for permanent residence. I would just like to ask guys if is there any problems that I may encounter if he will be going to sponsor me while im studying?
