Can medical exam be done before it's requested?

We just want to get it done in advance to prevent another document being sent past the deadline. Is it possible to go for the med exam probably long before they request it?

Upfront medical is no longer allowed for spousal sponsorship......refer to latest checklist 2018v.

6. MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Do not complete a medical examination at this time. You will be issued medical instructions at an appropriate point in processing.

Nope. You are required to take a document with you that is issued to you with the medical request.
 
Does anyone know if they will send updates of what is needed to both the principal applicant and sponsor’s emails? I am really good about deleting all unneeded junk mail and only have non-junk mail come to my inbox so will 100% see any emails from IRCC. My partner on the underhand has junk and regular mail coming into his inbox. Lol. And I am just a bit worried he might miss the email. Lol.
