So I applied for a TRV second time through paper application. Since I had to wait 3 weeks to get the decision envelope, I decided to link my paper application with my online account to check the status which I did. So I received my correspondence letter (refusal) to my account only after 4 days since I submitted my paper application. This raises below concerns:

1. Is it possible that the linking caused some problem such as effect to final decision or decision timeline?

2. It says that if I link my paper application with my online account, I will only receive messages through my online account and I will no longer receive any mail. Does it mean I will mot receive the decision envelope like I did in my first one? Or am I only getting my passport and other documents without the decision letter.

please help, this is super confusing. Getting refused is fine but I want to take back all my documents back and be sure what to do next.

thanks in advance.

Linking your application will not cause any problems.

You may or may not get a decision letter with your passport, but the decision letter would be what is posted in your online account.

I see, is there anything I can do to receive everything by mail like I did before? And will I still get emails from VFS global about where my application is on the way ( Visa application, tracking ID No.xxxxxxxxxx is under process at the IRCC Office.) ?

Linking your application has nothing to do with VFS. Those emails will come.

You should get paper letters from IRCC. Linking applications should not change that.
