Can I work with SIN in first 3 months

Dear All.......

I am international student came to Canada on 12th September,2013. At the time of entering Canada I received both study and work permit. and received SIN as well. I started working 15 hrs /week on it and earning only 600 dollars /month. running my cheques. Now my friends says that i should not run cheque or work on SIN,as it will effect my PR or work permit. I am in mental tension now. not nowing what to do. Please can you guide me with my present situation.

ru working part time on a coop work permit? have u read the restrictions on coop work permit.
