Hi all!
My spousal sponsorship PR application was just approved. I now need to log in to the PR Portal and confirm my details, then they will send my PR card. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../immigrate-canada/pr-confirmation-portal.html
I am not sure if it's safe for me to do this immediately, because I will be out of the country for a few weeks in September. I am currently in Canada on a work permit that I applied for at the same time as my PR (as my previous visa had expired). My visa has the remark - "Temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6). Pending FC APR."
My question is this - If I confirm my details in the Portal, then leave the country, and then my PR card arrives while I am out of the country... is my work permit still valid for getting back into Canada, or does my work permit automatically get cancelled when I use the Portal or when my card gets sent out?
I haven't been able to find any info about this online, so I'm hoping someone here can help!
