Hi

I applied for a Canada visitor visa in May 2019 and got a visa stamp that expires in Oct 2020. Now I have been invited to Canada again for work and need to travel there in September 2019. Does this mean I do not need apply for a new visa?

Thanks

I am not sure if it is multi-entry. Will it say so on the passport?

The thing is my passport is currently with the Swiss embassy getting stamped for my travel there. So I have no way of checking what the visa says for now.

No, I won't be working.

Yes it will say “multi” on the visa if it is one. If it was not then the immigration officer would have written a line across the visa on your passport which means you have used the single entry. If it is single entry then you need to apply for a new visa.

You say you need to be here for work but will not work? Clarify what kind of work thing you will be doing here.

I am a scientist, I will be presenting my research at University of Calgary. They will pay for my ticket but will not pay me.

This is the same purpose I got the visa in the first place. To present research at a conference.

Sorry, I didn’t mean that you should clarify with me. :)

I am saying clarify what it is so that you do not contravene the rules of your visa. That’s all. If you got it for that purpose and was approved for it then you seem to be in the clear. All you need to find out now is it was a single or multi entry visa.

Awesome. Thank you. Is there any way to find out without looking at my passport?
