can i use money in my wife account for POF ( urgent)

today i got request for RPRF fees and also they asked for POF. which should be around 14000 canadian dollar. i want to know if i can use the money in my wifes account to show POF . she is also co aaplicant in my application . i send my medicals in aug 2010.

Hi DreamCanada , congratulations !!

Yes You can use your Wifes a/c , FD s , Etc .. !! take a Print Out of the a/c Statement stamped by the Bank and submit it as a proof of fund .

Now, some members argued that since your wife is joining you then you can do so. Also, one member claimed that they know someone who did this and already landed.

So it's up to you to decide.

yes, you can send latest bank statement of yours and your spouse both valid for POF.

Agreed with mezo this is bit tricky and has been discussed before in detail. POF should be from principal applicant in my opinion. Rest is upto you to decide................

You can use her bank statement only if she is going with you.

I am not absolutely sure about whether spouse bank account works as POF or not but it supposed to. Like for my case I did provide the major source of my POF as from selling land property which was on my spouse name. However, The savings and FD account statement and Account balance certificate I did show for POF also had half of the amount from my own source (salary) as PA. Hope this will give you some idea....

Yes. You can use your spouse's account for showing POF.

If you are confused with so many different opinions..then why dont you convert that account into a joint account.. its a simple process done in a few mins and then you dont have to worry..

I recommend you check your VO checklist. Someone in this forum showed that for instance, the new Delhi accepts spouse POF.

If your husband is part of your application as an accompanying member, it is no problem. You can show this money as POF
