If you are the sponsor then there is no need if your application to sponsor was approved.

Forum member Merkopal (the sponsor) had his partner's application rejected because the visa officer didn't believe Merkopal would be going back to Canada to live. He then sent in proof that he was already back in Canada, and working, and the decision was overturned.
So I think the OP should send in evidence that he is back in Canada and employed. At the very least, he then doesn't have to worry that the visa officer will think his evidence of plans to reestablish in Canada is insufficient; he will also then not have to worry that the VO will reject them on economic grounds - which isn't likely anyway, I admit, but does happen.

You can just send the evidence - clearly labelled with your names, addresses, birthdates, and file number - to the embassy processing your file.

Yes, but I meant at CPC-M. The OP has not had his file sent to the visa post for processing yet. He wouldn't have a file number yet. There is no need to update at CPC-M at this point if he meets the eligibility requirements to sponsor. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

Can I update my application too.

My situation is a bit different. Interview was done some 8 months ago. Still no correspondence from the VO. Relationship is bonafide.

Don't know what is taking them this long. It's soon going to be 2 years since I have been in process through a VO that completes processing within 12-14 months.

Have you done a case specific enquiry? Where is your application being processed?
