Hi,

I am a USA citizen in living and working in Canada with a work permit that's employer specific, and it is "Engineering Management" category. They didn't need to do an LMO, I got my permit just with the job offer letter.

I have no intention of quitting my current full time job with the employer that's on my work permit. I have an opportunity to get a side assignment with a different employer - just a 10hr/week contract for some months, as a Project Lead (and not at all engineering related). I was wondering if I am legally allowed to take that assignment. This is not an assignment that could be done under-the-table, so for sure there would be some kind of document issued for taxes.

Did anybody do something like this?

thanks!

1. No, you have a closed work permit which restricts you to one employer.
