Can i submit my Academic IELTS result as language proficiency?

According to language requirement, CICA will accept the expired IELTS result.But they also mention that the IELTS result have to be general not academic. But i have academic IELTS which i have done 2009.And i always believe that Academic IELTS is much harder than the general IELTS.
Can somebody confirm me that my Academic IELTS is acceptable or not?
 
Unfortunately not. As insane as it seems, the IELTS has to be the General one, not the Academic one.
 
You can submit any document you like but if that doesn't fulfill CIC's requirement , then what's the point of submitting?
