I submitted my immigration application into the Express Entry pool, and at the time of submission, I did a mistake and misread one of the questions. And then I received an Invitation to Apply, and only then did I realize my mistake.

When first applying, I selected "Yes" for whether or not I have a Canadian PR sibling, but was under the incorrect impression that my brother had a Permanent Residence visa. He is currently living in Toronto and working under a work permit visa, but I, at the time, believed he had a Canadian PR, which he does not. It was only after I received my ITA, did I double check with him and found out about my grievous mistake.

So while initially applying, my CRS score was 450, and the cut-off for my round was 449 points. But as it actually stands, my CRS score is 435 out of the 449 I actually need.

I wanted to know if it would be possible for me to still use this Invitation, provided I am able to increase my actual CRS score to 450(or above).

For example, if I were to secure a job with a Canadian employer, in Canada, before my ITA's expiration, I would have an additional 50 points added to my CRS score, bringing my actual CRS score to 485.
In this case, and assuming my final application is submitted before the ITA's expiry, would I still be able to use the same invitation to apply for the Canadian Permanent Residence Visa?

Thanks!

It's my belief that as long as you are above the minimum CRS (bit more complicated if you are exactly at the minimum), you should be okay.

Having said that, and given that the ITA is only valid for 60 days, I would say decline it and work towards improving your score first. Without knowing the details of your situation, but putting myself in your shoes, I imagine that getting everything done for the PR application while also trying to get (and properly document) a job is a tall order.

Since it also takes several months at best to get to a PR from application, it's likely that having an ITA has a big bearing on your getting a job. Also, you may have some room to boost your points a bit with improved language skills (for example).

Well, that's my 2.5 cents worth - in any case, wish you all the best!
