Can I start working after submitting application for post graduate work permit

I wanted to know whether I can start working before I receive the work permit. Does applying for post graduate work pemit creates an implied status of work permit

You can if you have a valid off campus work permit.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I didnt applied for off campus work permit so I think I will have to wait for my post graduate work permit
