Here is what I need to know. I am married to a Canadian wife. I am a working male and she is a non working female. We have been married for 15 years. I am a citizen of the USA and she is a dual citizen. As I approach retirement (plan on 62 years old), we are interested in moving to Canada where she is from and her siblings and father still live. The problem is my wife does not and has not worked. She has no income with which to sponsor me with. I have always been the breadwinner and when I retire my 401K, pension and Social Security will amount to about $37,000 a year. But if my wife has no income, I am wondering if I can sponsor myself. Is there a way she can sponsor me spouse wise but they can use my income alone as being sufficient enough for me to move to Canada?

No, you cannot sponsor yourself.

Your wife does not need an income to sponsor you; there is no minimum income requirement to be able to sponsor a spouse. CIC will look at your family income as a whole.

She does not need to meet any specific income requirements to sponsor you. You cannot sponsor yourself. The financial side is only part of the sponsorship undertaking which only she can commit to.
