Can I reapply for PR

Hi all,

I am currently living in the US and recently applied for PR under skilled workers program(got an ITA and have sent my application)

The reason I applied for a PR was because I was on my last attempt at H1-B and needed a backup.

However right now I am not so sure about moving to Canada.

I want to know if I accept the PR and not meet the minimum requirements of staying there for 2 years(every 5 consecutive years) does that hurt my chances of applying for a PR in future?

Not officially, but of course you may be unable to qualify if requirements change and you lose points due to age. The residency obligation is extremely easy to meet, and if you applied there is no reason not to do so. If your application is still in process and for whatever reason you no longer want to move to Canada, you should simply withdraw it.

Thanks for replying.
I have heard people saying that an expired PR negatively affects your future applications, which I wanted to confirm.

The thing is given the current situation and due to some personal issues I am not currently 100% sure about moving to Canada yet.

Those people are wrong. It doesn't negatively impact your future applications but it does add some complexity. You don't lose PR automatically if you don't meet residency obligations. You may have to renounce your PR before submitting an application again in future. If you don't want to move to Canada simply withdraw your application.
