I am a PGWP holder, and wondering if I quit my job after applying for express entry would I lose my additional 50 points for having a "valid job offer"? Kindly answer since without having those points I feel i may have enough points to be invited.

Thanks all in advance!

Has your employer obtained an approved LMIA?

No. I graduated in canada as an international student and having a post graduate work permit (PGWP).

In that case you don't qualify for the 50 job offer points. You would only qualify for the 50 points if your employer gets an approved LMIA.

Then why will u loose 50 points.
When I go calculate my CRS score it asks "Do you have a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (if needed)? " .....If I say yes, it gives me additional 50 points. My question was If I apply while applying for the express entry my crs score would be higher by 50 (gives me enough points to be invited). but right after applying if I quit, would they take away this additional 50 points? Sorry if I am missing something here please correct me

You are not meant to select that option unless you have LMIA

So it means having a valid job offer does nothing towards your express entry?

You don't have an approved LMIA and do not qualify for the 50 points. So there are no points for you to lose.

You should have answered "no" to the question about whether you have a valid job offer. You answered this question incorrectly by saying "yes".

What you have is not counted as a valid job offer. It would only be counted as a valid job offer if your employer has obtained an approved LMIA.

Correct. You get points for 1 year of Canadian work-experience, that's it
"Do you have a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (if needed)? " I get it but it says "if needed" at the end. So i was thinking in my case I do not need an LMIA

You are incorrect.

You need an LMIA to claim the 50 points.
