Can I leave & re-enter Canada while application being processed?

Hi Everyone,

I am a 2016 Jan applicant and now still waiting for the final decision. I was wondering if it is okay for me to leave Canada and re-enter while the application is being processed? And do I need to apply for a visitor visa to re-enter or just use my current open work permit?

Please let me know if you have any information regarding this. I would really appreciate your help.

So which actual family stream have you applied through and was your application an inland or Outland one as that can determine the answer ?

Unless you are from a visa exempt country you will always need a valid TRV to travel to and enter Canada regardless of whether you hold a work permit.
