Hello All,

I wonder if I can go on vacation outside of Canada after I received the file number through AINP ? My work permit expires in 2017 and I am a HKnese Citizen which mean i can enter Canada without visa. I have asked and heard so many different stories from people. Some people say I can't go out of Canada after handed in the application. Some people say you can go out of Canada for a short vacation. Can anyone explain ? Thanks :)

You can go for vacation.

Hello ttrajan,

Here is the source I found on albertacanada.com that actually confused me

Can I go on vacation outside of Canada while my Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) application is being processed? What documents do I need to show when I come back to Canada?

Yes, you may leave Canada to go on vacation while your AINP application is being processed. You must ensure you have the documents required for re-entry including your valid passport, a temporary resident visa (if required), a work permit and proof that you are still employed. For more information, visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website, or use the CIC Help Centre.

Please note that an AINP nomination on its own does not allow you to re-enter Canada.

I dont quite understand, it explained I may leave Canada on top of the context, but then indicated AINP nomination on its own does not allow you to re-enter Canada. Can you tell me the difference ? Im truly appreciated.

You can re enter with your earlier visa and work permit if it is still valid. AINP approval is not a visa to enter Canada. Only it will speed up your PR application after AINP approval.
