Med's Request
28-09-201
Hi All,

I have applied my Canadian PR file in India this year in May. I have received a letter today from New Delhi Canadian Embassy to take the medical exam and pay the RPRF fees.

I am currently in UK on a work permit from my company and wanted to know if I can take the medical exam here in UK ? if yes, do I have to request for any authorisation from New Delhi embassy for the same? Or I can just go to the UK enrolled physicians as per CIC and ask for medical exam ?

2. Also, please help suggesting what is the RPRF fees and how much is that for each applicant (me and spouse). I checked on internet and it shows as $490 but is that for both or per candidate?

3. Please confirm what to do after the medical is done? I am not sure, but do I have to send the letter recieved along with the payment DD (payable at New Delhi) and a copy of medical report ?

Please advice at your earliest so I can plan my things accordingly if I have to travel to India for the formalities.

thanks!

you can do your medicals in UK without NDVO authorization.

$490 for 1 person. so for 2 person 2 x 490 = $980

after medical...wait, they will then contact you and ask you to submit passport for visa stamping.
so for visa stamping you will need to go back to India.

Medicals will be cheaper in India. Send passports thro VFS office in India.

I would think that the difference in the cost a medical in England and India is a lot less than the cost of airfare to India to have a medical.

Generally Delhi visa office, they used to give medicals, RPRF fees and passport submission together. Hence I went to India for medicals and submitted passports thro VFS India.

I have received the letter only to submit the medical and the RPRF... they haven't asked for Passport. So I think I will wait for their next email for the passport submissions and then I can send it through VFS.

Yeah, If I had to go back to India, the airfare would be even more. I have checked with few listed physicians in UK and they have the fees of medical around £300 per person.. So it would be something around 60,000 INR for 2 people. I think that fine with me... because airfare if around 75,000 INR for 1 person return :)

Thanks for the useful information.... but why do I have to go to India to submit the passport ? Can I not send it by courier / VFS or any other means ?

please suggest.

We can not send Indian passports by courier. We need to travel back to India for passport submission.

Correct. It's illegal to send Indian passports by courier / VFS / mail. Someone must hand-deliver them.

"Someone" can be anyone from family or it has to be the applicant only? And do we have to submit the passport by hand to the embassy or do we have to mail it within india as well?

You can submit passports to any VFS offices in India. They will send back the passports to Indian address only.

Hi All,

Please suggest how can I send my passports from UK to India if the embassy asks for it ? I am in UK for 1 year and cannot go back myself to submit the passport. Please suggest if there is any way of sending it via any post or VFS center in UK who can send it to India ?

Thanks!

We cannot send passports by courier to India. We need to travel back to India for passport submission.
