I'm muslim and interest in finding a muslim wife in the areas of vancouver and toronto. I don't like the way I've been treated in the us over my conversion to Islam and have a problem with some american politics. I'm not talking about a sham marriage to abuse the immagration system I want a loving partner to spend my life with and intend to marry for love. If i find someone on a tourist visa can I come and stay?

Simply finding someone and getting married to them doesn't allow you to stay.

That individual would need to sponsor you through spousal sponsorship for you to be able to stay (and that application would ultimately need to be approved of couse).

If you plan on going through an arranged marriage process / get married relatively quickly, then you would want to make sure you have a large and traditional marriage to reduce concerns this is a marriage of convenience.

It would be unusual to come on a tourist visa, find someone, and get married without leaving and without overstaying. You will want to make sure there is sufficient evidence this is a genuine relationship.

Also keep in mind that while you are a visitor in Canada, you won't be able to work or qualify for health care coverage or any other benefits. Make sure you have enough savings to cover you stay here.

Good luck.

Ultimately the relationship needs to be genuine and this is something IRCC will assess as part of the spousal sponsorship application.

In terms of visiting Canada, you want to be careful it doesn't look like you are trying to live in Canada on tourist status. Generally speaking, you want to make sure you are spending more time outside of Canada than inside of Canada in any given 12 month period. You also want to make sure it doesn't look like you're moving to Canada when you arrive as a visitor. Sometimes visitors can be asked to show proof of ties to their home country (e.g. proof of employment and/or proof of property ownership / rental). It's also possible to be asked to prove you have suffient savings / funds for your visit to Canada.

Not sure you've decided which city you plan to visit, but make sure you check into the costs of staying there. You'll struggle to survive as a tourist on $800 / month in many / most of Canada's major cities. Especially these days with rents being so high and the limited availability. Do your homework before you come.
