i have checked out Concordia university English language proficiency requirements webpage. it is written that if a person studies a minimum of 3 yrs at a secondary institution where the medium of instruction is English , then he / she doesn't need a ielts or toefl. i studied in a English medium school from standard 1 to 10 here in India. am i exempted from the test??? i have scored 56.6 % in my higher secondary (standard 12) exam,71% in English and 72% in secondary school, what are my chances of getting admission to this university???

I think the best ones to answer that is Concordia admission. Most institutions will happily check over bits and pieces of credentials before application. Even if they say you can apply it isn't a guarantee that you will get accepted. That depends on how many apply and what their credentials are.

neither me. But we are exceptions.

I have a classmate who is so talented it's not even funny. Half a dozen years ago he didn't speak a word of english. He is totally fluent now and had a IELTS of 8. That beats most British people (and he's not British). He is just linguistically intelligent. I've lost count of how many languages he speaks.

And your point is?

Just rambling and being jealous of someone who has an abundance of talent. I seriously admire the guy.

A! He is talented in languages , you are talented in something else. :)

It is a rare thing when people learn languages for fun. Usually , you learn them when you need them for work or communication in your everyday life. :)

Oh, that is not all the guy is talented in. He's scoring near a perfect 100% at every test. He says he's a nerd. I think he's just extremely talented with an IQ that must be through the roof. Nice human being too.

Well, I didn't have to sit a IELTS test so I guess that makes up for some. ;-)
