The process of getting a study permit is the same no matter what you are planning on studying in Canada.

Incidentally, 'premed' is not a major, and most Canadian medical schools accept very low numbers of foreign students. So, if you're planning on being a doctor, you want to make sure that your desired school will accept a Canadian degree with no prejudice.
