Can I extend by post graduate work permit when applying for PR

I did post degree diploma in Canada and got my post graduate work permit for one year. Currently I am working as store assistant manager and planning to apply for my pr by July. My questions are:-
1)can I extend my open work permit when I applying for my Pr? My pgwp will expire by August?
2)if in case my pr application got reject is there any chance that I can continue my stay in Canada

M not sure but once u file your pr till you get a decision you may get a bridging work permit.
