Can I enter Canada without activating my working/holiday visa?

I just got approved for my working/holiday visa, which I would like to start next year. My issue is that I already have a trip booked to Canada next month and I'm wondering if I will have to start my visa once I enter the country and if not, will the eTA that has been linked to my passport as part of my visa still be valid even if I don't activate it on this trip?

You can enter as a visitor. Your eTA should remain valid.
